This year, I had the idea of growing plants in bottles. I wanted my house to be filled with a thousand of different plants.  So when I decided to head to my local floral shop, I was sure to come back with a bag full of bulbs. You cannot imagine how disappointed I was when the florist told me that all of the hyacinth bulbs were sold out. He told me that I had to start growing them in mid-December (and not in February…). My lack of pictures leads me to show you this beautiful tutorial that I found on Gardenista: diy-bottle-fed-paperwhites. The pictures are just perfect, and the tutorial explains extremely well how to archive this.

Have you tried to grow plants in bottles?

  2. What a shame that you can’t grow the hyacinth now.
I’ve tried to grow re-grow both celery and ginger so far. The celery was successful and the ginger grew a pretty plant but did not produce any new rhizomes.
